I have always loved libraries, and I worked in my hometown library from ages 16-22. When I was in grad school, Reading was always brought up as an example of a great library. I worked in Wakefield at the time, and coworkers would always bring up what Reading was doing, so when a position opened up right when I was graduating, I knew I had to apply! I have previously worked at the Lucius Beebe Library (Wakefield), Maynard Public Library, Goodnow Library (Sudbury), and Watertown Free Public Library. I love working with kids! I love that we can work with a variety of ages so that we can have great conversations with friends during storytime and more in-depth conversations with elementary school friends in the afternoon.
My favorite musical artist is Taylor Swift. I've seen her 7 times in concert since 2010, and I'm seeing her again in 2024! The book that changed my life the most is "Flora and Ulysses" by Kate DiCamillo. The best book I read recently is "Not Quite a Ghost" by Anne Ursu.
I would take sunblock, a cell phone, and a charged hotspot to a deserted island. I'm getting of the island! I grew up on Long Island, and I was lucky enough to live on the south shore by Fire Island and Robert Moses Beach. I didn't realize how much I loved living near the ocean until I didn't anymore.
I love building Legos, visiting museums (especially old houses), going to the movies, and hanging with my dog and friends!
I was awarded Best History Student in eighth grade, and for a brief few years, thought I would become a historian focused on artifacts of the American Revolution in New England. I also may have been influenced by Nicolas Cage's best work, National Treasure.
