I've lived in Massachusetts my whole life from being raised in Cambridge, graduating high school in Tewksbury, attending UMASS Amherst, living in Lowell for a bit, Somerville for ten years, and now Malden! I previously worked at the Somerville Public Library first as a part-time Senior Sub, then full time as a Generalist Librarian, Youth Services Librarian and finally as the Head of Children's Services. Before that, I worked in operations at Hachette Book Group. Since graduating library school I had only worked in one library and was ready for a change. Reading has a great reputation and offers amazing programs and materials for it's patrons so I knew I wanted to apply as soon as I saw an open position. After I saw the Children's Room I was sold! I love seeing the smile on kids faces when they come into the Children's Room and how excited they get when they see new passive programming.
I've been a diehard Britney Spears fan since 1998 and have seen her live five times. My favorite movies are "Hocus Pocus" and "Clue" - both have perfect vibes.
The best book I've read recently is "Apprentice to the Villain" by Hannah Nicole Maehrer - what a great sequel and even better audiobook!
I would take my tablet (assuming there's unlimited wifi on this island) complete with a subscription to Peacock so I could keep up with Bravo shows, a magically refilling water bottle, and a pillow with me to a deserted island.
I love starting craft projects...and never finishing them. So far I've started cross stitching, embroidery, paint by numbers, and paint gem kits. I also like to go indoor rock climbing when I haven't injured myself, which is unfortunately too often. People might be surprised I dye my hair? But maybe it's more noticeable than I think!
