Library App Updates

Please continue to send me any app issues and I will submit a ticket with Communico. Here are some updates on known issues:

The checkout history does not show up in the app, Communico is aware and is working on a solution.

Holds cannot be suspended through the app, Communico is aware and working on a solution.

Items that should not renew, appear to renew in Communico-but they aren’t renewed (items with a hold/items that have reached the renewal limit). Communico is working on this.

Local Reading partners list

Hi everyone,

I am working on a list of our local partner organizations and the RPL staff liaisons. I thought we’d already had one, but I can’t find it it lives on the S drive under:  Library Files\02 Working Groups and Teams\Outreach Working Group

While this is a living document, I’d like to have any current liaisons listed by Thursday, December 19th.

Thanks!

Michelle

RPL Professional Workroom Collection

I am working to develop a collection of professional books and materials to eventually be available for internal use by RPL employees in the staff lounge.

When you get a chance, please take a look around your offices and at home to see if you have any materials marked “workroom” or any other relevant items from your personal collection that you are willing to share to help advance the professional development of your peers.

Feel free to drop items off to me in Admin or in my mailbox.

Updates to Editorial Calendar Form

The editorial calendar form has been updated to better reflect PR options available for programs, services, and collections. The google form works the same way as it did previously.

This is also a quick reminder that the Off the Shelf newsletter is now monthly, deploying approximately the first Tuesday of each month. Spur of the moment or last minute town department news to share will go out on a dedicated News Around Town email. We’re also trialing a weekly Friday or Monday FB/Instagram post with 4-5 programs (or a service or a collection) highlight and reminder to check the event calendar for details.

We’ll monitor how the monthly vs. weekly cadence works over the next months to a year. If you have any questions about the form or how to use it, please email Desiree or Michelle.

Communications-Updates

The Communications Working Group held our bi-monthly meeting on Monday. Here are relevant updates for all staff:

  1. Continue to add new library users to the email newsletter.
  2. From March to September, we will be piloting a monthly newsletter format instead of a weekly newsletter. We will continue to send newsletters for larger events/services and when specifically requested or as needed.
  3. Museum Pass Highlights: If you visit a museum using the library passes, send pictures of your experience to Desiree/Michelle, and we will promote it via social media.
