Shout out to Chris for keeping it positive. I look forward to her Irish soda bread every March 17th and it NEVER disappoints. Thanks for the tasty treat! From Michelle.

Shout out to the Borrower Services staff for exemplary customer service and keeping it positive. As we pass the 2nd anniversary of the pandemic, I want to give a shout-out to our Borrower Services staff who have consistently rolled with every pivot, all with good humor, kindness, and hard work. It does not go unnoticed. From Michelle.

Shout out to Nemaya for going above and beyond, keeping it positive. She came in on a day she wasn’t working to spoil us with the sweetest Valentine’s Day treats. But the best gift is getting to work with Nemaya! From the Children’s Room.

Shout out to Kathleen Wilcox for going above and beyond and exemplary customer service. Kathleen took charge when entering the library this morning. The alarm had been going off since around 3am(?) She called Kevin Cabuzzi (facilities) to make the awful ringing stop! This is my first time working with her and every interaction she has had with patrons has been positive & high energy. From anonymous.

Shout out to Cate for coming up with a new idea with the signs on the stairwell. There was high praise by a patron for such a great idea and learning tool!

Shout out to Desiree for leading by example. Desiree is always on top of the publicity for the library, and she also keeps me on track. We are lucky to have her! From Michelle.

Shout out to Ally for exemplary customer service. When we get push back from patrons outside of our state about Pride Storytime, Ally is there with a firm hand or an outgoing voicemail message. It’s a huge relief not to have to battle these people over the phone from wherever they are across the country. I simply press “forward call,” and I don’t have to think about it anymore. Ally taking the brunt of it and knowing exactly what to say shows what a strong leader she is! Thank you for dealing with all of that! From Olivia.

Shout out to Susan, Ashley and Ally for going above and beyond, coming up with a new idea and exemplary customer service: Ashley & Susan developed a brand new series for young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual and Developmental disabilities; the amazing new Nature Connection program–such a wonderful addition of services for these patrons and their caregivers!. Despite some bumps and rescheduling, AW & SB hosted their first program the end of March to an almost full house. A big nod to both of them for brainstorming this idea and working hard to pull all the pieces together to create something very special and important to the library and its patrons. From Cate (And Ally-two separate shout outs for this program!).

Shout-out to Cate for Going above and beyond and helping a co-worker: Cate was super helpful during Plant Lab! The room was total chaos (delightful but still chaos) and she helped wrangle the kids, kept the room from being completely covered in paint and dirt, and worked with the caregivers as well. The help was deeply appreciated! From Lisa R.

Shout out to The Post-Holiday Crew for going above and beyond and helping a co-worker. Shout out to all the intrepid RPLers who worked the Sundays after Christmas and New Year’s Day! You are holiday heroes! From Cate.

Shout out to The Children’s Room peeps for solving a problem, keeping it positive: You all made the COVID pivot in January with smiles on your faces, virtual programs for families, live storytimes on Facebook, slime bags and more on Fridays, and amazing energy every day! TY!!! From Cate.

Shout out to Ally for helping a co-worker, leading by example and solving a problem. Ally is always calm, cool, collected–she is a compass, providing comfort and vision in these chaotic times. Plus, she’s always ready to talk about the wonder weird of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson! (seriously what is UP with that?? editorial note from MF) From Cate.

Shout-out to Valerie Gould Heithaus and Andrea Hogan for going above and beyond, coming up with a new idea, leading by example: Valerie and Andrea developed a model online form to illustrate a streamlined version of the Massachusetts Library Association Paralibrarian Certification application. The entirely paper-based forms and binder/portfolio creation need to be more accessible to encourage more applicants and digital to make it easier for the Review Board to track and process efficiently. By creating a model Google form, the MLA Paralibrarian section was able to visualize benefits to the process and begin to plan for improvements. From Desiree.

Shout-out to Display Committees in all Departments for going above and beyond: Super impressed with interesting and engaging displays sprinkled throughout the library. One could get lost checking out what’s new every week. Very thoughtful and patron-oriented. From An Admirer from Afar!

Shout out to Lisa R, Olivia, and Amy for going above and beyond, Coming up with a new idea, Keeping it positive, Amy, Olivia, and Lisa R. gave us the grooviest staff “meeting” ever! From: many anonymous admirers.

Shout out to Desiree, Andrea H, Judy and Rebecca for keeping it positive by being awesome teammates during the MLA Conference trivia night. There was lots of laughter, an impressive amount of truly useless knowledge known, and our team (the Good, the Bard and the Ugly) came in second! From: Valerie

Shout out to Eileen for going above and beyond, Eileen came into work early to assist an elderly patron who needed some TLC. She has actually become this patron’s “personal librarian.” Months ago, Eileen even personally delivered books to this patron so she could have some pictures of wild animals to complete a quilt for her great-grandchild! AWWW! From: anonymous.

Shout out to Melissa for going above and beyond, coming up with a new idea, Melissa recently completed a 6-session All About Birds program that netted 468 attendees! This program, while widely popular with patrons, took a lot of time and zoom management to run as smoothly as it did with so many people. Cleverly capitalizing on bird mania, Melissa has locked in the presenter for Round 2 as well as some socially distant bird walks this summer! From: anonymous.

Shout out to Valerie for going above and beyond, helping a co-worker and solving a problem: I want to give a shout out to Valerie for being a true supporter of creativity. She brings all my crazy billboard ideas from concept to actual execution. Her fabrications skills are truly beyond compare. She also has super amazing hearing and has on several occasions helped out with a patron hold before I even had to ask! She is a great co-worker and an asset to the library. From Andrea and Michelle.

Shout out to Cate for leading by example and for going above and beyond. Thank you to Cate who advocates for us in Children’s and also makes those pesky lunchtime meetings so fun and filling! You make coming into work every day an exciting adventure! Cate is always jumping in wherever she can to help out! From anonymous and Lisa R.

Shout out to Melissa for exemplary customer service. Melissa should receive a gold star for her outstanding customer service to a patron (initials JP) who is notoriously challenging!! Her support and attention to co-workers’ needs is genuine and does not go unnoticed. It’s the alternative to the hug we all need and miss during these COVID times. Thank you from anonymous.

Shout out to Renee for going above and beyond and solving a problem. Renee has completed a zillion (really about 2 dozen) NHS Leadership forms for the students participating in the Study Buddy Program. Each student has an individual couple of forms to be completed and Renee does it for each and every student! She even devised a way to electronically sign each form!! That’s a lot of work! Thank you from anonymous.

Shout out to Andrea F. for solving a problem and keeping it positive. Andrea deserves kudos for coming into work with a positive attitude despite the declining health of her mother on the other side of the country. I don’t know how she does it! In addition to this, she has masterfully traversed an insane schedule during an even more insane time. Somehow Andrea makes it all work and even maintains a smile on her face! Lots of love and thank you, from anonymous.
